Red Schoolhouse in Snow Restored Interior Classroom Restored Interior Classroom

Photos of parts of the classroom in the Little Red Schoolhouse decorate the 2004 Annual.  View the photo of the Schoolhouse in the snow.  The only source of heat was the potbellied stove, and it took work to keep the stove going. Then think of the young boys who helped keep the room warm by carrying coal and wood inside.  The upper walls were decorated with paintings from Aesop's Fables, painted by Justin Gruelle. Miss Kelley used these fables to teach the children life lessons.
