The NEW CANAAN HAND PRESS, housed in the Tool Museum building, is a re-creation of a 19th century printing office built around an original Smith-Hoe Acorn press, typical of the third or fourth types of iron presses made in America. Fewer than thirty hand printing presses remain in working condition in the United States. View 19th-century type cases along with other antique equipment and printing samples in this fully operable printing office.
